Auto-create pre packs when products are added

Once your size ratios are stable, you should not have to remember to build packs every time a new style lands in Shopify. Auto-apply templates watch product create and update webhooks and create pre packs from your default templates when the size range matches.

Who auto-apply is for

Brands that add products frequently — seasonal drops, dropship syncs, or wholesale reorders — and want every eligible colorway to get the same pack structure without a manual Mass Apply each time.

How to set it up

  1. Create ratio templates for each size run you sell (for example XS–XL).
  2. Mark the templates you want as defaults for auto-apply.
  3. Enable auto-apply in Templates settings.
  4. Add or update a product with matching sizes — packs are created for colorways that do not already have them.

What auto-apply skips

Colorways that already have a pre pack are left alone. Products whose sizes do not match a default template are also skipped, so unusual size sets stay intentional. Use missing and partial pack detection to review anything that did not qualify.

Mass Apply vs auto-apply

Mass Apply is the right tool for a one-time catch-up across an existing catalog. Auto-apply keeps new products covered going forward. Most wholesale merchants use both.
